To earn the UL listing, the Elsafe passed three rigorous tests – the same battery of tests that larger, more expensive safes undergo.

1. Break-in Resistant – Professional safecrackers and locksmiths use an array of tools – screwdrivers, hammers, picks, crowbars – to attempt to break in to the Elsafe.

2. Jarring Resistant – The testers dropped the Elsafe from various heights. They then hammered the Elsafe and tried to crush it with a steel wrecking ball.

3. Endurance – The testers simulated 100 years of use by changing the batteries 50 times and opening and closing the safe 6,000 times.
